Outside fun
Music with Ms. Lisa
The children had the opportunity to play the glockenspiel with Ms. Lisa and sang and listened to a variety of fun Halloween songs. They had a blast holding flashlights in the dark during one of the songs about a ghost.
Music with Ms. Sarah
In music class the children learned how to hold their practice violins. They tucked the violins under their right arm while securing them with their crocodile grips.
Mandarin
This Wednesday during Mandarin class we sang a Chinese greeting song while playing the triangle. We learned that "Open, Shut Them" has a Mandarin version. We also read a book called "The Toes Don't Have Names", which was originally written in French but translated into Mandarin. The toes were sad they didn't have names like the fingers, so they came up with various ideas to name themselves, from ABC's, numbers, colors, Solfege (handsigns) to fruits. It was a very cute book!
Celebrating Eleanor and Leticia's three year old Birthday's
Eurythmics with Ms. Ginny
Ms. Ginny played her drum to the beat of each syllable of their name. While she played the piano, the children followed the movement of one leader. The leader would move around the space whenever she played piano with one hand and then everyone would join in when she played with both hands.
