Week of May 1st
This week, many of our activities were based on the book, Butterfly Butterfly by Petr Horacek.
Adding legs, arms, and spots to our ladybugs for our spring bulletin board
Using dot paints to create colorful insects
Using colorful tissue paper and insect foam shapes to decorate butterflies

Bugs in a jar
The children each took a turn rolling a die. Depending on which number the die landed on, the child placed the corresponding number of insect cards into the bug jar.
Playing a dice letter and number game. Each child had a turn to roll the die. Once it landed they stated which number or letter it landed on.
Playing a dice number insect game. Each child rolled the die. Then depending which number they landed on, they used a fly swatter to swat the number of bugs that they rolled.
